Community Engagement Intern

Responsibilities:

We are looking for an individual to take on the role of community engagement and operational support. Our customers love us because we provide outstanding and quick support and help engage their communities. We need someone that loves helping people and solving issues quickly and efficiently. We need someone that is tech savvy and can learn our system thoroughly to then be able to support our customers. Additionally, this person needs to know everything going on with the best internship programs in the country so that the key events, dates and content can be shared on our platform. Scour LinkedIn and the hiring pages of the top 100 internship programs to share what they are doing and provide great information to our users. Plus look the other direction by connecting with internship and recruiting liaisons at the best universities in the country to understand what they are looking for and their campus recruiting event schedules.

We like building relationships with our customers through engagement with our technology. If you like being very personable and are comfortable with meeting and talking to new people, and also understand that technology can accelerate this engagement, this is the role was made for you! We want someone to take on this role and expand on it and make it their own! We want someone who can design creative strategies in engaging communities and supporting them as well as we grow.

In addition to supporting our general communities our InternConnect B2C side needs a constant moderator and content creator for the community. Things that the InternConnect App community will need are the following:

A 100 internship program database to feed into our top 10 internship algorithm for each aspiring intern user. You will need to find the following information for each internship program:
• Team size
• Office Style
• Paid or unpaid
• Fun level
• Location
• Intern Type
Keep a check on the competition for InternConnect. Look at what else is out there and analyze how we can learn from our competition.
• Create daily discussion questions - Example, What was your interview like?
Suggestions or tips
• Answer any questions brought up by the community
• Create a wall of fame of all interns that got an internship
• Handle/remove disgruntled users or people that are “trolling”
• Engage the community with fun posts
Populate the calendar with upcoming intern related events
Populate with other interesting things in the community

IT & Cyber Security Intern

Responsibilities:

Interested in testing, and helping improve a Chicago Start-up’s web and mobile application security? Interested in working directly with highly skilled security professionals and gaining amazing experience in the process? Then this job is for you. InternConnect’s technology team is constantly finding ways to improve our product and enhance our security, and we need individuals who are motivated to put these ideas into action. Find something you feel you can improve? Great! We allow and encourage you to bring new features to our product.

We will also give you the responsibility to test and debug our most recent updates. We are looking for motivated individuals who want real world experience on the technology side of a start-up. Good communication skills are important because you will get the chance to work hand-in-hand with our internal and outsourced team to resolve problems. Knowledge of asp.net, SQL, AWS, and Microsoft Azure are preferred but not needed, although general coding knowledge is required.

There will be two main projects of the Internship. The first will be to implement a WAF with our IT staff for our applications. Once that is implemented we will get a professional security review and they will provide a list of issues that we need to solve in order to be secure. Your job will be to tackle these issues and provide solutions. The second main project will be to migrate servers from AWS to Microsoft Azure with our IT staff. We are currently using AWS but may need to switch to Microsoft Azure in Q4. Additionally, with our server switch we will need to setup a redundant backup system that is secure.

Requirements:

Current full-time student at a four-year university
Studying and learning to be an IT security professional
Able to code, preferably in asp.net and SQL
Some experience with IT and cyber security
Understanding in AWS and or Microsoft Azure

If you love to be creative and create strategies to drive internet traffic to our website utilizing Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google ads, and content creation then this is the position for you. Along with driving traffic to the website we need someone to track and analyze campaigns and make decisions to create better and more targeted strategies. Keeping all of this in mind we need to increase our SEO. How easy is it for people to find us? We want you to help us to be a bigger fish in the metaphoric internet fish pond.
